Role Description
Housing Opportunities Inc. is seeking a full-time, on-site Housing Technician based in Beaver County. This role is structured as a hands-on, on-the-job training position designed for individuals looking to build real, practical skills in housing maintenance, construction, and property operations.
The Housing Technician will work directly alongside experienced team members to learn and perform residential maintenance and repairs, conduct property inspections, and respond to tenant needs. Technicians are trained through active project work, contributing to rehabilitation projects, occupied housing repairs, and broader housing initiatives led by the organization.
This is not a passive learning role. Technicians are expected to engage fully in daily work, develop technical skills over time, and grow into increased responsibility across maintenance, project coordination, and housing operations.
Qualifications
- Willingness to learn hands-on housing maintenance, repair, and construction skills
- Ability to follow safety protocols and take direction on-site
- Capacity to gradually build knowledge of building systems and code requirements
- Strong work ethic and reliability in a team-based, field environment
- Clear communication and respect when interacting with team members and residents
- Ability to manage time, stay organized, and complete assigned tasks
- Problem-solving mindset with a readiness to take direction and improve
- Basic familiarity with tools or construction concepts is helpful but not required
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
