What are the responsibilities and job description for the AmeriCorps Member in Construction position at Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky (HONK)?
Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky (HONK) is a local faith-based non-profit organization. Our mission is to help low-income families and individuals reach the goal of stable homeownership through programs of education and support.
We have an AmeriCorps Member opening in Construction. This is a full-time volunteer service role at HONK (with benefits), thanks to our partnership with the Homeless & Housing Coalition of Kentucky.
The AmeriCorps Member will help build, rehab and repair homes in NKY.
The member will receive a small living allowance (roughly $2,000/mo.) and have an opportunity for basic healthcare during their year of service. They will also receive an education award of $7,445 when they have completed the program (1700 hours) that can be used toward the payment of student loans or continuing education. The education award can be passed on to children or grandchildren.
