As our Administrative Operations Specialist, you'll play a critical role in supporting our mission by being the first point of contact for potential clients, supporters, funders, and community partners. You’ll also support our programmatic teams with various clerical duties to help keep things running smoothly. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys helping people and problem-solving.
Your Impact
In this role, you will:
- Manage the front desk – answer and screen telephone calls; respond to voicemails and email requests; welcome visitors; and ensure visitors and clients are directed to the appropriate program staff. You’ll also ensure mail and deliveries are distributed appropriately.
- Assist programmatic areas with administrative tasks – data entry; compile and distribute outreach packets; organize and secure (paper and electronic) files; implement organizational policies and procedure; assist in planning, scheduling, and promoting office events.
- Proactive office management – Ensure overall tidiness of communal office areas; work with the landlords’ facilities team to reserve shared conference spaces and communicate regarding general office maintenance needs; ensure office supplies are well stocked; ensure all equipment (e.g., printer, copier, postage meter) is working and properly maintained.
- Streamline processes – Use technology and data analysis to improve customer service, client support, volunteer engagement, and efficiency in administrative processes.

Compensation
The anticipated hiring salary range for this position is $25-$28 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
Work Schedule and Location
This is a part-time (20-25 hours per week) position based at HOME of VA’s office in Richmond. General hours will be 10am-3pm, Monday-Thursday; Friday: 9:00 am – 12:00pm on Friday. Additional hours outside of normal business hours may be required to support various meetings and events. Remote work may be allowed during inclement weather or other office closures.
