Salary: $18.01 - $28.05Job Summary:This is a skilled/semi-skilled position involving repair and maintenance of the facilities plus their internal and external equipment. Applicant may assist other maintenance workers. Routine Supervision, oral and written assignments are received from the Facilities Director/Working Foreman. Applicant may devise his own methods for accomplishing some tasks and work independently. All work is subject to inspection in progress and upon completion.Typical Duties: (Duties are illustrative and not meant to be all inclusive.)Works independently, with a group, or may lead a small group of semi-skilled workers in one or more of the typical crafts and trades, i.e.:Carpentry: Makes general repairs to wood fixtures, frames, doors, installs hinges, shelves, counter tops and may perform other wood working duties.Painting: Applies prime, intermediate and finish coats to a variety of surfaces by use of brush, roller, and spray gun. Cleans tools. Capable of making repairs to painting equipment and apparatus.Electrical: Maintains repairs and installs electrical components, equipment and fixtures by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering and insulating.Plumbing: Unstops plugged sinks, toilets, sewer lines, and similar systems. Installs/repairs lavatories, sink, deck sets, angle stops, commodes, ETC. 2. Utilizes and maintains appropriate measurement instruments, tools and equipment of all trades. 3. Perform related work as required. 4. Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor as soon as possible and fill out an incident report right away.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Possess and maintain a Valid Florida Drivers License. 2. Considerate manual dexterity in the use of tools associated with the construction trades. 3. Must be able to stoop, kneel, squat, bend and climb; able to lift, push and/or carry up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance. 4. Excellent Communication skills.Training/Education:Moderate knowledge of the methods, techniques, tools, equipment and materials of at least one of the crafts and trades in building repair and maintenance; i.e., carpentry, painting, electrical, masonry, plumbing, heating and air conditioning. Requires the knowledge of shop measurements, mathematics, and an ability to understand oral and written technical instructions.
