NSPIRE & HQS Inspector – Housing Authority
The Housing Authority of Pompano Beach is seeking a detail-oriented NSPIRE & HQS Inspector to ensure safe, quality housing through HUD inspections. This role involves conducting unit inspections, documenting results, and guiding landlords and tenants on compliance with federal, state, and local standards. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe, decent, and sanitary housing for program participants.
The ideal candidate has:
- Education: High school diploma required, plus two years of college or vocational/technical training; or substitute with two additional years of relevant work experience. Nan McKay or NAHRO certification preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Minimum five years in property management, program administration, or related fields within public or subsidized housing, including at least two years in building inspections, construction, property management, or technical trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC). Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Licenses & Certifications: Valid Florida Driver’s License with insurable record. NSPIRE and Lead-Based Paint Condition Assessment certifications within six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule various types of inspections

- Identify deficiencies and verify that corrective actions are completed on time
- Document findings and prepare clear reports for property owners, tenants, and management

- Perform visual inspections for Lead-Based Paint and ensure proper remediation procedures
- Resolve complex inspection issues and conflicts involving tenants, owners, and staff
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Stay current with HUD regulations and inspection protocols
- Input data into Housing Software
