What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Director position at Housing Authority of Bowling Green?
The purpose of this job is to plan, develop, and direct the financial programs of the Housing Authority of Bowling Green while maintaining all financial systems in accordance with local, state, and federal government regulations. Responsibilities include planning, preparing and monitoring the operating budget for the Authority, compiles and prepares monthly and annual financial statements for the operating budget using the prescribed formats as stated by HUD, supervises all accounts payable and payroll functions, maintains and updates the chart of accounts on the general ledger, approves all journal entries made into the accounting ledger, prepares and submits the Operating Subsidy annually to HUD, Secure Coordinator for HUD/REAC Systems, participates in annual independent audits, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field required, with three to five years of management level accounting experience: or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
