Role Description This is a contract, remote role for a Plant Sitter with House Plant Sitting. The Plant Sitter is responsible for visiting clients’ homes or coordinating agreed arrangements to water, feed, and monitor houseplants according to specific care instructions. Day-to-day tasks include checking soil moisture, adjusting light exposure where appropriate, cleaning leaves, rotating pots, and identifying early signs of pests or disease. The Plant Sitter communicates regularly with clients through messages or photos, provides status updates on plant health, and reports any concerns or recommended adjustments to care routines. Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic and intermediate houseplant care, including watering, light requirements, soil conditions, and common houseplant types.
- Ability to observe and identify signs of plant stress, pests, or disease and communicate potential solutions or next steps.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to coordinate schedules, follow instructions, and maintain respectful, professional interactions with clients.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills to manage multiple plant-sitting appointments and follow detailed care routines accurately.
- Comfort working independently in clients’ homes, with a high level of integrity, trustworthiness, and respect for privacy and property.
- Access to a smartphone or similar device for scheduling, navigation, photo updates, and communication with clients and the platform.
- Previous experience with plant care (personal or professional), pet or house sitting, or similar service roles is beneficial.
- Ability to travel within a defined local area to visit clients; having personal transportation is a plus where public transit is limited.
