House of Stefas is seeking an experienced, charismatic, and hospitality-driven Lead Bartender to oversee one of the Hudson Valley’s premier cocktail and wine programs. As Lead Bartender, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the bar, mentoring bartenders and barbacks, maintaining exceptional service standards, and delivering an elevated beverage program featuring handcrafted cocktails, premium spirits, world-class wines, and curated Greek and Mediterranean offerings. You will work closely with ownership and management to continuously improve our beverage program while ensuring consistency, efficiency, and excellence every service.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and inspire the bar team while fostering a positive, professional, and energetic work environment.
- Deliver warm, genuine hospitality and create memorable guest experiences through exceptional service.
- Prepare classic and contemporary cocktails with precision, consistency, and attention to detail.
- Maintain expert knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, liqueurs, and Greek-inspired cocktails.
- Assist in developing seasonal cocktail menus and specialty beverage offerings.
- Ensure all drinks meet House of Stefas quality and presentation standards.
- Maintain proper inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and organization of all beverage products.
- Monitor liquor costs, waste, and inventory controls to maximize profitability.
- Train and mentor bartenders and bar support staff on recipes, techniques, service standards, and product knowledge.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service.
- Operate the POS system accurately while processing guest transactions efficiently.
- Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with all New York State alcohol service regulations.
- Uphold all health, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Collaborate with management on beverage promotions, private events, and wine dinners.
- Assist the dining room team whenever necessary to ensure seamless guest service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of bartending experience in an upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, cocktail bar, or fine dining establishment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of classic cocktails, modern mixology, premium spirits, wine, beer, and cocktail techniques.
- Strong understanding of wine service and food pairing.
- Experience using POS systems such as Toast or similar restaurant platforms.
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for extended periods.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
