Brief Description
Position Summary:
The Legal and Grants Coordinator is responsible for managing the logistical aspects of the Legal Clinic’s pro bono/contractual attorney projects and for supporting grant reporting through data management and quality control. The Legal and Grants Coordinator facilitates every step in the process of referring and tracking pro bono/contractual attorney cases, including liaising with clients and attorneys, tracking and managing required documentation, and data management. The Legal and Grants Coordinator also supports the Clinic’s grant reporting efforts by assisting with data quality control, data correction, and auditing required grant documents.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a combination of remote work and in-office days as determined by departmental needs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach to pro bono/contract attorney panelists to refer cases for representation.
- Maintain spreadsheet of referred pro bono/contract cases.
- Conduct outreach to clients to obtain documents necessary to complete referral process.
- Facilitate assigned of cases, serve as liaison to connect clients with assigned attorneys.
- Track case outcomes and update client database with relevant outcome information.
- Facilitate processing of contract attorney invoices for review by Clinic Director.
- Track and organize case documentation.
- Conduct outreach to law firms and private attorneys to recruit lawyers to serve on pro bono/contractual panels.
- Facilitate processing of paperwork, including, but not limited to, attorney agreements, retainer agreements, reporting forms.
- Coordinate and send acknowledgement letters to pro bono/contractual attorneys.
- Schedule and organize training sessions for volunteer/contractual lawyers.
- Utilize client database (ETO Software) to run data reports for purposes of quality control.
- Review data reports to find errors and communicate to staff what errors need correction.
- Audit required reporting documentation and communicate to staff what documentation is missing.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Proficient in use of Excel, ability to organize, sort and analyze spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of ETO Software preferred.
- Demonstrated public speaking ability.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to understand intimate partner violence and how it affects the client population.
- Experience in working successfully across departments/ teams to achieve objectives.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, experience with planning and project management, and strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be flexible, able to work with multiple competing priorities, able to identify and resolve problems, delegate work and maximize the work effort of others, and successfully manage competing priorities.
