The Supervisor in Training is a developmental position aimed at preparing selected candidates for a full-time supervisory role within the poultry live production and processing industry. This position involves observing the flock, collecting blood and fat samples, and administering vaccinations (candidates must be able to carry a 70-pound backpack sprayer). Additionally, this role includes monitoring nutrition and overall farm management to ensure high productivity and profitability
Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Vaccinate flocks and collect blood and fat samples while monitoring farm conditions.
- Must be able to carry and lift 70 pounds or more.
- Participate in training sessions related to animal welfare, food safety, USDA compliance, and workplace safety. -
- Maintain accurate records of production farm reports, attendance, and incident reports.
- Conduct regular farm visits to assess the health and performance of broiler flocks.
- Collect and analyze data on broiler performance, including growth rates, feed efficiency, mortality rates, and overall health status.
- Recommend vaccination schedules and health monitoring programs to prevent and control diseases. -
- Prior experience in live production or animal husbandry is required.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and challenging environments.
- Maintain a safe driving record.
- Must be flexible and available for after-hours support as needed.
