Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for checkout, returns, and exchanges while handling cash, credit cards, and digital payments with confidence
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales
• Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to attract customer attention and promote featured products
• Assist with stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and replenishing items to ensure the sales floor remains inviting and well-stocked
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions about products, store policies, or promotions using clear communication skills
• Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls as needed in accordance with phone etiquette standards

Qualifications

• Previous cashiering experience with proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both English and bilingual settings (preferred)
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail environment is a plus
• Knowledge of retail sales techniques including upselling and merchandising strategies
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
• Experience working in a grocery store or similar retail setting is advantageous
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and maintain high energy levels throughout shifts
