House of Hope, Inc. is seeking a part-time Shelter Advocate, to work at the emergency shelter
Hours are Friday, Saturday, Sunday and every other Monday from 6am-2pm. Salary is $15.91 per hour.
Shelter Advocate
The Shelter Advocate is responsible for providing shelter coverage and direct services to victims
of domestic and sexual violence The Shelter Advocate ensures that the emergency shelter is a safe, confidential, and protective environment for the residents and their children.
Responsibilities:
Providing coverage for the 24-hour Crisis Hotline
Completes intakes and exit interviews
Ensuring client files contain all necessary paperwork and signatures
Enters client data into a data base system
Providing advocacy, case management, and crisis intervention to clients
Facilitates support groups and life-skill classes
Ensures that precautions are taken to provide security and confidentiality for all clients
Performs other work-related duties as requested by the Executive Director
Qualifications:
Clean background check.
Non-Judgmental demeanor towards individuals as it relates, but not limited to gender
identity, ethnicity, religious preference, age, and race.
Excellent computer skills.
Reliable Transportation.
Ability to work in high-stress situations.
Training can be provided upon hire if not obtained beforehand.
