House of Hope Guest Supervisor
House of Hope is small, faith-based homeless shelter located in the heart of Danville, VA. We seek to provide men, women, and children with emergency housing, food, and support services. Join our team and make a positive difference in people’s lives!
Responsibilities:
Provide support to shelter guests during overnight hours. Some supportive responsibilities include: maintaining a clean environment, assisting House of Hope guests, and documenting any safety/security concerns of House Guidelines violations.
Provide resources and information to guests and those who call House of Hope requesting shelter or to ask for more information.
Follow and enforce House Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures with shelter guests.
Maintain safety and security of shelter property, and report concerns to Shelter Manager and or Law Enforcement.
Ensure privacy and safety of guests by not releasing confidential information (like identity) and by not allowing anyone other than guests, staff, volunteers, case workers and law enforcement on the premises.
Maintain the cleanliness of shelter by ensuring guests complete daily chores and assisting if needed.
Complete shelter room checks with Shelter Manager as requested.
Maintain inventory levels of supplies and complete organizational/shelter upkeep duties as assigned.
Perform basic maintenance as need (ex. Changing light bulbs, plunging toilets, etc.) and report any major maintenance issues to Shelter Manager.
Document in shelter log any pertinent information: such as check-ins, check-outs, bed count, behavioral issues, disciplinary actions taken, and completing incident reports.
Attend scheduled meetings and training opportunities.
Maintain positive, supporting, and respectful guest and public relations.

Qualifications/Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 Years of Human Services experience preferred
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
