Sample Maker

House of Holmes is looking for a Sample Maker that will be responsible for the execution of prototype garments and products at our cut and sew manufacturing facility. This includes monitoring both the quality and completion times of the product.

What you will do:

• Constructing sample garments and products according to specified requirements provided within acceptable timeframes
• Reviewing garments for general appearance and deviations
• Comparing pattern to cut apparel samples to ensure they match, ensuring prototype is consistent in size, measurement and feel
• Sewing sample prototypes accurately using proper machinery and tools
• Discussing any sewing problems with pattern maker and troubleshoot as a team for root cause analyses and corrections
• Sewing machine setup (changing thread, bobbins, and needles as needed.)
• Single needle. overlock and specialty machine prepping and joining and or sewing production pieces
• Attach decorative or functional accessories to products.
• Record operational or production data.
• Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

To be considered you must have:

• Sewing experience minimum 10 years
• Industrial sewing experience minimum 5 years
• 2 years sample making experience minimum
• Must be able to pass an extensive sewing test which will also determine pay level
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail oriented, proactive and able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision
• Advanced time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience sewing in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
• Bilingual English/Spanish pay differential offered
