Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including stations, utensils, and equipment
- Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure all dishes are safe for consumption
- Assist with meal plating and presentation to ensure visually appealing dishes
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Restock supplies and assist with inventory management to keep the kitchen running smoothly
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with dietary department standards or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving practices is desirable
