Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Bridgeport, CT, for a Medical Laboratory Technician Program Coordinator. The coordinator will oversee the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program, ensuring its alignment with academic and industry standards. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining the program curriculum, managing accreditation compliance, supervising faculty and staff, mentoring students, coordinating clinical placements, and fostering partnerships with healthcare organizations. The coordinator will also ensure that laboratory equipment is maintained, implement quality control protocols, and uphold the college's academic excellence standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Medical Technology and Laboratory Medicine
- Proficient in Laboratory Skills and use of Laboratory Equipment
- Knowledge of Quality Control processes within a laboratory setting
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Experience in program development and accreditation processes is preferred
- Ability to build relationships with healthcare organizations and clinical training sites
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Certification from a recognized accreditation agency such as ASCP or equivalent strongly desired
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities
