Entertainment Engineer — Hour To Midnight Escape Room Games

Part-Time | Booking-Based Schedule | Customer Experience & Entertainment

Hour To Midnight Escape Room Games is looking for outgoing, personable, and dependable people to join our team as Entertainment Engineers — our version of a Game Master.

This is more than a customer service job. Our Entertainment Engineers are part host, part actor, part puzzle expert, and part problem solver. You will help create an experience that our guests will remember long after they leave.

If you enjoy interacting with people, performing, solving problems, making people laugh, and taking pride in doing a job well, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome guests and provide an outstanding customer experience.
  • Brief groups before their game and help set the tone for their experience.
  • Operate and monitor escape room games.
  • Act as the game's host, guide, and occasional character.
  • Give hints and assistance while allowing guests to solve the puzzles themselves.
  • Troubleshoot puzzles, electronics, computers, and other game equipment.
  • Answer phones, respond to guest questions, and assist with reservations.
  • Open and close the facility.
  • Reset and prepare rooms between games.
  • Keep game rooms and common areas clean, organized, and ready for guests.
  • Work independently while knowing when to ask for help.
  • Help us continually improve the guest experience.

We're Looking For People Who...

  • Enjoy people. You genuinely like interacting with customers and making their experience better.
  • Have personality. You don't need to be a professional actor, but being comfortable performing, improvising, or playing a character is a big plus.
  • Take pride in their work. We want people who notice the little things and care about doing the job right.
  • Are dependable. When you are needed, our team and our guests are counting on you.
  • Can think on their feet. Every group is different, and things don't always go exactly according to plan.
  • Communicate well. You should be comfortable talking with groups of people and explaining things clearly.
  • Can work independently. Our employees are trusted to manage their responsibilities without someone constantly looking over their shoulder.
  • Are comfortable with basic computers and technology.
  • Enjoy games, puzzles, theater, or entertainment. These aren't requirements, but they certainly help!

Scheduling

Our schedule is booking-based, since our games run on reservations. We'll walk you through the details before we schedule an interview.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable and responsible.
  • Comfortable speaking to and interacting with groups of people.
  • Ability to remain professional and positive with a wide variety of guests.
  • Experience in theater, acting, improv, gaming, technology, hospitality, customer service, or escape rooms is a plus — but personality and attitude are more important than experience.

Why Work With Us?

This is an opportunity to do something different from a typical part-time job.

You'll meet interesting people, perform, solve problems, operate technology, learn how escape rooms work, and help create memorable experiences for our guests.

There are also opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and grow with the company over time.

If you're the kind of person who enjoys making people smile, isn't afraid to put on a little performance, likes solving problems, and takes pride in a job well done, we'd like to hear from you.

Come help us make every game an experience our guests won't forget.
