Hour House is seeking to fill a Coles/Shelby County ROSC Council Recovery Navigator position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
We are looking for a Recovery Navigator, someone who has personal experience with recovery from substance use disorder (SUD) and is passionate about helping others on their recovery path. Working closely with the ROSC Council Coordinator and local partners, this person will help strengthen recovery networks and increase access to community resources in Coles and Shelby Counties. While not required, applicants who live in the county are encouraged to apply, as local connections are highly valued.
Main Duties
- Build partnerships with local recovery organizations, service providers, and community leaders to grow available recovery supports.
- Act as a trusted contact for individuals seeking assistance, helping them overcome challenges that may stand in the way of long-term recovery.
- Link participants to area resources such as education and job opportunities, housing, family support, and other social services.
- Encourage collaboration and relationship-building among individuals in recovery and community allies to promote ongoing engagement.
- Take part in outreach events, community gatherings, and ROSC Council projects to increase awareness and strengthen local recovery efforts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least two years of sustained personal recovery from substance use disorder.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
- Pass all required background screenings.
- Strong communication, computer, and reading skills.
- Dependable, professional, and motivated to serve the community.
Schedule
This is a hybrid position that includes work from home, in-office tasks, and participation in community-based activities.
Regular attendance at the Mattoon office on Tuesdays is required. Some evenings and weekends may be needed for community events or meetings.

Certification
- Preferred: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS).
- Required: Must earn CPRS certification within one year of starting the position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
