Duties
- Provide attentive pet care by feeding, watering, and monitoring animals throughout their stay
- Assist with pet grooming, including bathing, brushing, and basic hygiene maintenance
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills
- Clean kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a sanitized environment in compliance with pet boarding standards
- Support pet behavior assessment and assist with training exercises when needed
- Assist with outdoor activities such as walks or playtime to promote physical activity and mental stimulation
- Maintain detailed records of pet care routines, behaviors, and any health concerns observed
Requirements
- Prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, shelters, or pet boarding facilities is highly preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary assistant or veterinary technician tasks is a plus
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal behavior management is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when handling large or multiple animals
- Strong animal handling skills with patience and compassion for pets of all temperaments
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Willingness to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions and maintain cleanliness standards for animal care facility sanitization
- Basic understanding of pet grooming techniques and animal restraint procedures
