Houff Corporation and IDM Trucking are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team. This position will support the financial operations of multiple affiliated companies and play a key role in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, reporting, and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee biweekly payroll processing for multiple companies.
- Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts receivable, customer billing, payment processing, and account reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Prepare and file sales tax, use tax, IFTA, and other required reports.
- Administer company credit card programs and customer payment systems.
- Assist with intercompany billing and financial recordkeeping.
- Help improve accounting processes, accuracy, efficiency, and cross-training within the department.
Qualifications
- Experience with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable required.
- Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with multi-company accounting.
- Banking, ACH processing, and tax reporting experience.
- Transportation, logistics, or trucking industry experience.
