Housekeeper/Room Attendant Job Description
DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping
REPORTS TO: Director of Housekeeping
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsible for the cleaning and stocking of Guest rooms to ensure our high standards of cleanliness. Responsibilities include but not limited to, general housekeeping, vacuuming and mopping.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Oral proficiency in English.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work unsupervised with focus and attention to detail.
- Able to project a professional, friendly and courteous image to guests and patrons.
- Able to lift and carry 30-50 pounds.
- Able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete assigned quota Guest rooms. Respond to and if necessary forward, in a timely manner, all guest requests.
Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters and floor surfaces using cloths, mops sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents. Strip and make beds, change bed linens. Dust and clean all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, air vents, and shelves thoroughly. Vacuum the entire room and empty trash. Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room. Visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and signify completion of room by filling out paperwork.
- Cleaning and resetting guest bedroom and bathroom areas
- Changing linens; making beds
- Organizing collateral on tables
- Straightening furniture
- Dusting and vacuuming of rooms
- Emptying trash
- Being courteous and helpful to Hotel guests, including reporting any guest requests or preferences
- Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner as outlined by supervisors.
Regular attendance in conformance with Hotel policy. Report all maintenance deficiencies in guestrooms and corridors to your Supervisor. Turn in all items found to Housekeeping Lost and Found.
The safe and proper use of cleaning chemicals, as per OSHA regulations and hotel policy. Adhere to all hotel safety procedures, including the use of back support, gloves, protective eye wear as needed. The safe use of any cleaning machinery.
