The Hotel Washington is seeking an experienced and service-driven Human Resources Manager to join our leadership team. As a union hotel, this position plays a critical role in supporting a positive employee experience while ensuring compliance with labor agreements, employment laws, and company policies.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will partner with department leaders to foster employee engagement, drive performance, administer HR programs, and support day-to-day hotel operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment and enjoys balancing employee advocacy with business objectives.


Salary Range - 80-85K

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with hotel leadership to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Support the administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements while maintaining positive labor-management relationships.
  • Support with workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Manage recruitment efforts, onboarding, orientation, and new hire integration.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and hotel standards.
  • Assist with HR functions, personnel records, and HRIS administration.
  • Coordinate employee recognition, engagement initiatives, and training programs.
  • Assist with benefit enrollment, open enrollment, and employee inquiries.
  • Prepare HR reports, maintain personnel files, and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
  • Serve as HR Manager on Duty as assigned and support hotel operations when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within a full-service or luxury hotel.
  • Previous union labor relations experience strongly preferred, not required
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Experience conducting employee investigations and managing employee relations matters.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and maintain confidentiality while exercising sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
