Job Summary:
The Hotel Peter and Paul is looking for a Night Auditor (N.A.). The Night Auditor is responsible for assisting guests with their overnight requests and balancing accounts from the day shift. Performance of the property management system’s rollover and cashiering/ billing procedures for the day form the bulk of a normal night audit shift. Essentially, a N.A.s role is to provide excellent customer service to guests and keep the front desk and accounting operations running smoothly; this may include checking in guests arriving at night, handling guest requests, and taking reservations. The N.A. will also be responsible for maintenance, ensuring cleanliness, and organization of the front desk/lobby area.
Essential Functions:
The Night Auditor works at the front desk of a hotel during the night, and they must ensure that the quality and integrity of the hotel are maintained just as diligently as they are during the day.
Some of their typical duties include:
- Welcoming guests in a warm and friendly manner; respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, kind, and efficient manner
- Answering calls about booking, customer requests and complaints, and directing other employees and departments accordingly
- Checking in the late arrival guests and handling their overnight request
- Scheduling wake up calls
- Look into next day’s arrivals for special attention guests and reservation details.
- Balance cash drawers and day shift accounts at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Summarize cash, credit card and check activities
- Audit and reconcile room charges and taxes to guest folios as defined by the billing instructions
- Verify all charges, balances and room rates are correct
- Perform duties per the Night Audit Checklist
- Prepare an end of day report summarizing revenue, occupancy percentages and other front office statistics
- Clean, organize and re-stock front office, retail areas, and restrooms
- Coordinate with security staff for overnight procedures
- Monitor hotel night traffic and ensure that no guests are disturbed; report any suspicious activity or behaviors from guests or visitors
- Comply with standard operating procedures for the role and the brand.

Desired Qualifications:
- Possesses outstanding customer service and organizational skills, professionalism, and problem solving
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources
- Experience with with bookkeeping/accounting procedures and administrative tasks
- Analytical mind, with strong attention to detail and an affinity for numbers
- Proficient with computers and IT systems (telephone, Microsoft Office, point of sale software)
- Previous hotel front desk/night audit/ retail experience desirable
- Work hours will spread over weeknights, weekends and holidays, which require flexibility
- Comfortable with cash handling and credit card procedures
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds on occasion. Must be able to stand, walk and work on feet for extended periods of time. Requires grasping, writing, typing/keying, walking, repetitive motions, hearing and visual acuity
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform many tasks at the same time
- Perform other duties as requested by management
