Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial painting, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality finishes. The Painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards. This role requires proficiency in various painting techniques and tools, as well as the ability to work effectively on construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching as necessary.
- Apply paints, stains, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and airless paint spraying equipment.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the scope of work required.
- Execute color theory principles to achieve desired finishes and aesthetics.
- Perform plastering, caulking, and other surface preparation tasks before painting.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on renovation and remodeling projects.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working on construction sites.
Experience
- Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting is essential.
- Familiarity with construction estimating and basic math skills for measuring areas to be painted.
- Experience in carpentry including trim carpentry, frame carpentry, and fixture installation is a plus.
- Knowledge of masonry techniques and concrete finishing is advantageous.
- Previous maintenance person experience or skills in welding may be beneficial for specific projects.
