What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner position at Hotel Indigo Traverse City?
Hotel Indigo is hiring for busser/food runner for the end of summer season at our restaurant and rooftop bar. This opportunity could have additional hours in the slower season if willing to assist with our dish area.
- Clear and reset tables in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean and organized dining and bar area, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down tables and chairs, ensuring rooftop furniture and chairs are organized after each diner and restocking supplies
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
- Delivering food from the kitchen to the correct guest promptly while it is hot
- Ensuring outlets have enough silverware, napkins, and other supplies during busy periods
- Address customer complaints by serving as a face for the kitchen staff and finding solutions that will satisfy customers
Key Requirements & Skills
- Ability to stand/walk for 100% of a shift, bend, kneel, and carry heavy trays of food or dishes.
- Ability to clear tables quickly and deliver food promptly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Clear verbal communication to work with kitchen staff and bartenders
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
