Line Cooks at Hotel Diamond are essential members of the culinary team. They are responsible for consistently preparing dishes according to established recipes, techniques, and quality standards set by the Executive Chef.
Attention to detail and integrity are essential, as every plate directly impacts the guest experience. Line Cooks are expected to execute each dish with precision, consistency, and professionalism.
Strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to accept and apply feedback in a fast-paced environment are critical to success in this role.
Job Duties:
- Open, stock, maintain, and close assigned station according to established standards.
- Prepare and execute menu items in accordance with recipes, techniques, and plating standards.
- Maintain proper mise en place throughout service.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of every dish.
- Communicate with the Executive Chef and teammates to ensure smooth service.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.
- Assist with prep production, dish station, and other kitchen operations during slower service periods.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and properly care for kitchen equipment.
- Complete daily cleaning, side work, and closing responsibilities.
- Assist with receiving, rotating, labeling, and storing products using FIFO practices.
- Report equipment issues or product quality concerns to the Chef promptly.
Requirements:
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- Previous line cook experience required; fine dining experience preferred.
- Strong knife skills and fundamental cooking techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes, plating standards, and chef instruction with consistency.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining quality.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to accept feedback, adapt quickly, and continuously improve.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Current Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain one within the required timeframe).
