Position Summary
The General Manager at Hotel Bel-Air Orlando is responsible for the overall success of the property, including financial performance, guest satisfaction, and team leadership. As the leader of a smaller, high-occupancy property, you will take a hands-on approach to daily operations—from managing the front desk and housekeeping standards to driving local sales and ensuring the property remains a top choice for travelers visiting Orlando’s nearby attractions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Excellence
- Daily Oversight: Manage all daily hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance.
- Property Inspections: Conduct daily walkthroughs of guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet our standards for cleanliness, safety, and comfort.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement of linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities, ensuring we stay within budget.
- Hands-on Support: Be prepared to assist the front desk during peak periods or when staffing requires additional support.
2. Guest Experience
- Quality Assurance: Monitor guest reviews (Google, TripAdvisor, Booking.com) and implement strategies to improve satisfaction scores.
- Conflict Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for guest issues, resolving complaints professionally and efficiently before the guest checks out.
- Brand Presence: Maintain a visible presence in the lobby to greet guests and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
3. Financial & Revenue Management
- Revenue Growth: Work to maximize occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR) by monitoring local market trends and competitor pricing near the Florida Mall and Orlando attractions.
- Cost Control: Manage labor costs and operating expenses to maximize profitability.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly reports on hotel performance, occupancy forecasts, and budget variances.
4. Team Leadership
- Staffing: Recruit, hire, train, and schedule a small, dedicated team of associates.
- Culture: Foster a positive work environment through clear communication, regular team huddles, and performance coaching.
- Compliance: Ensure all staff adhere to safety protocols, labor laws, and hotel policies.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3 years of management experience in the hospitality industry. Experience with limited-service or independent boutique hotels is a plus.
- Location Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the Orlando/Central Florida market, particularly the South Orange Blossom Trail and Florida Mall area.
- Skills: * Proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS).
- Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L management.
- Excellent bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred given our diverse guest base.
- Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and be "on-call" for property emergencies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods while inspecting the property.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., linens or supplies).
Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
