Job Overview
An Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heater systems used in the railway industry. These systems are crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rail switches in cold weather conditions. The technician's primary role is to assist with wiring, assembly and quality control in a rail heater shop.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, wire and ensure the heater system is operational and functioning properly prior to shipment
- Diagnose, and repair electrical heater systems, including alternating current and direct components, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency
- Perform calibration of sensors, temperature controls, and other precision measuring instruments to maintain system accuracy
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in electrical or mechanical systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, preferably in a railway or similar industry.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, control systems, and heating elements.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to railway maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
