DAYCARE FACILITY SUPPORT STAFF
Purpose Statement:
The job of Daycare Facility Support Staff was established to assist in the care of children and provide support for the director and assistant director in cultivating an environment where children and their parents can feel safe, secure, and receive quality childcare.
Functions:
- The daycare facility support staff is responsible for assisting in the functions of the daycare facility and must be knowledgeable of all functions and performance of the facility.
Essential Functions:
- Reports directly to the Daycare Facility/Operation Director.
- Assists in the daily care of children.
- Maintains classroom equipment, play areas, and all other areas of the facility.
- Assists in keeping accurate files on children and activities.
- Collaborates with staff to adhere to facility/operation standards.
- Assist to ensure that the facility and staff adhere to all state and local regulations.
Job Requirements:
- Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills with children and adults alike.
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with parents, staff, and children.
- Must be organized and have a strong business sense.
- Must have an appropriate code of ethics for working with children.
- Must be flexible and able to react appropriately to changing circumstances.
- Must have strong crisis management abilities and maintain a cool composure in times of crisis.
- Must understand the importance of confidentiality when it comes to the privacy of information and individuals.
- Must possess excellent customer service.
- Must be professional and provide a public face for the daycare facility.
Work Environment:
Time spent in the daycare facility is divided between childcare and cleaning/maintaining daycare areas.
Experience:
- Must be able to pass a background check for both the District and Department of Family Services.
- Must have or be able to obtain all CPR and First Aid certifications.
