Role Description This part-time, on-site role is located in Hackettstown, NJ, and combines responsibilities as a Baker and hand bagel roller. The team member will assist with mixing dough, hand-rolling bagels to consistent sizes and shapes, boiling and baking bagels, and monitoring ovens for proper bake times and product quality. Daily tasks include preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, following food safety guidelines, and organizing baked goods for display or packaging. The role may also support light prep work, restocking supplies, and collaborating with other team members to ensure that products are ready on time for opening and peak customer hours. Work may include early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Hands-on baking or food preparation experience, preferably in a bakery, bagel shop, or similar environment.
- Ability to hand-roll dough with consistency in size, shape, and weight, and willingness to learn specific house techniques.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn basic food safety, sanitation standards, and safe equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a warm kitchen environment.
