- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process transactions quickly and efficiently, handling cash, credit, and digital payments with precision.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions about products, and assist with product demos to enhance their shopping experience.
- Manage stock levels by merchandising displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring products are well-presented and accessible.
- Upsell products by suggesting complementary items or promotions to increase sales and meet store targets.
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders remotely, providing clear and courteous communication.
- Conduct basic retail math calculations for transactions, discounts, or returns to ensure accuracy at checkout.
- Support team supervision by assisting new team members with training on cashiering procedures and customer service standards.
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures in a retail or grocery store environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively and provide clear product information.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs more inclusively.
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques, stocking procedures, and retail math for accurate transactions.
- Must have Food service experience
