Coordinator ensures regional clinical consistency, reinforces clinical standards, and serves as the primary clinical training resource for the regional office.
Key Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Training Manager to plan and deliver clinical education within the assigned region
- Leads, supports, and coordinates all Field Training Officers (FTOs) assigned to their office to ensure consistent instruction, evaluation, and communication
- Facilitates regional clinical orientation and continuing education
- Ensures regional FTOs are scheduled appropriately for new hire field preception
- Assists with onboarding for new ALS, BLS, and NEMT providers
- Conducts/coordinates ride-alongs and field evaluations with regional FTOs to assess provider performance and adherence to H2H protocols
- Provides regional follow-up on QA/QI documentation corrections and identified training needs
- Coordinates scheduling, space, and equipment for regional training sessions and skills labs
- Provides coaching and support to FTOs and participates in FTO development and evaluation
- Reinforces Clinical Alerts and ensures affected staff understand changes in practice
- Monitors local compliance with clinical policies, procedures, equipment standards, and documentation requirements
- Communicates regularly with the General Manager regarding regional clinical concerns, provider performance issues, or training gaps
- Ensures clinical equipment, medications, and supplies used in the region meet current H2H standards
- Assists the Training Manager with annual and periodic competency assessments
- Assists with statewide training initiatives and serves as the regional point of contact in the Training Manager’s absence
- Identifies region-specific clinical trends and reports them to the Training Manager and Director of Clinical Operations & Compliance
- Maintains accurate regional training and competency documentation in TraumaSoft
- Assists with ambulance staffing when required, including operational needs or field evaluations
- Models professional conduct, communication, and adherence to H2H clinical standards
- May be assigned to staff an ambulance as needed to support operational or training requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current Virginia Paramedic certification (National Registry preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of EMS field experience
- Strong knowledge of H2H and ODEMSA clinical protocols
- Ability to teach, coach, and evaluate clinical providers effectively
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Experience using TraumaSoft or similar EMS management platforms
- Valid driver’s license and clearance to operate an H2H vehicle
- Maintains clearance to practice as an EMS provider under the H2H Medical Director
- Prior FTO, preceptor, or training experience
- Instructor certifications in CPR, ACLS, and PALS
- Experience delivering skills labs, CE, or simulation-based training
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and competency-based education
