Job Location: Charleston, WV and surrounding areas
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of assigned licensed nurse, assists the hospice patient/ family with personal care, activities of daily living (ADLs) and other duties as instructed by the licensed nurse. Manages a patient case load and provides support to patient/families in the home/facility setting. Performs other job duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid certified nursing assistant certification.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Contingent upon successful completion of drug screen, background check, and other screenings as applicable.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
Frequent standing and walking for extended periods (8β12 hour per shift).
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
Ability to push and pull equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, stretchers, and medication carts).
Visual acuity to read medication labels, physician orders, and monitors.
Auditory ability to assess patient needs and respond to alarms or calls for assistance.
Work Environment:
Exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and bodily fluids.
Frequent interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Fast-paced clinical settings with potential for high stress.
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
