Facilities and Transportation Manager, PACE Program, Full-time

Job Summary 

The PACE Facilities and Transportation Manager is a member of the PACE Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Facilities and Transportation Manager plans, organizes, and implements the transportation services of the PACE program. Depending on staffing needs, the Facilities and Transportation Manager may occasionally serve as a Driver.

Minimum Qualifications  

• Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, business administration, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
• Five (5) years of experience in the transportation industry required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• One (1) year of experience working with a frail or elderly population required; in the absence of such experience, training will be provided by the PACE program upon hire.
• Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have up-to-date immunizations and vaccines before engaging in participant care.
• Have not been convicted of criminal offenses involving Medicaid, Medicare, other health insurance or health care programs, or social services programs under title XX of the Act.
• Have not been convicted of criminal offenses pertaining to physical, sexual, drug, or alcohol abuse.
• Not excluded from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Competencies, Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Two (2) years of administrative or supervisory experience in a transportation setting, preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs, preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a health-related area, preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills consistent with established Transportation Coordinator competency requirements.
• Ability to manage conflict effectively, exercise sound judgement, make timely decisions, and adapt to changing operational needs and priorities.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

• This position requires sitting for extended periods while driving, as well as standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching overhead to perform maintenance, inspections, and vehicle duties. The employee must lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds and assist participants with mobility limitations in and out of vehicles, including maneuvering occupied wheelchairs on lifts and ramps using proper body mechanics and mechanical assistance devices. Vision, hearing, speech, and manual dexterity sufficient to safely operate a vehicle, use hand and power tools, and communicate with participants, staff, and emergency personnel are required. Entering participants’ homes and healthcare facilities may involve navigating uneven surfaces, tight spaces, and varying sanitary or environmental conditions. The role also requires exposure to outdoor weather during participant pick-ups, drop-offs, and deliveries.
• Work is performed in the PACE Center, in program vehicles, in participant residences, and outdoors, with regular exposure to outside weather conditions, vehicle traffic, moving mechanical parts, and occasional exposure to chemicals, fumes, and electrical current. Exposure to communicable diseases and other potentially infectious materials is possible, and personal protective equipment must be used as directed.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time, exempt position. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm or 7:30am - 3:30pm, with schedules subject to adjustment based on transportation routes and center operating hours. Occasional evening, weekend, or after-hours work may be required.

Travel 

Travel between the PACE Center, participant residences, and other locations is required as part of regular job duties.
