This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position (36 hours/week)
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (night shift, 7pm-7:30am)
This position provides direct nursing care to patients in the IPU, their families, interdisciplinary group management, coordination of patient and family services, and evaluation of appropriate hospice care through development of the Hospice plan of care.
What are the essential duties day to day?
In hospice care, you are dealing with grief. It is important to find ways to not take the heaviness of it all home with you. Many of our employees find that what helps them on those hard days is to find joy in the fact that they were able to be there to comfort that patient, help them feel cared for, and make a difference in the time they had with them.

What are the essential duties day to day?
- Symptom Management
- Patient Assessment
- Documentation - assessments, interventions, and updates
- Develop and coordinate plan of care
- Educating patient and family members
- Communicate with our medical providers onsite
- Average of 6 patients a day
- Supporting other staff members and team members
- Training members
- Supervise CNA services provided to assigned patients
- I love the atmosphere here. The team and management are great. I am able to ask questions - we are all after the same goal!
- We are like family here. Everyone works very well together as a team.
- Patients' well being and family is kept as our highest priority.
- There are usually 3 nurses working at a time, averaging 6 patients per nurse, sometimes just 2 nurses on night shift.
- I love that we have a holistic approach for the patients and families; we have a skilled team for the different needs of the patients/families. We have chaplains, social workers, counselors, etc.
