Nurse Supervisor

As a Bluegrass Care Navigators' Hospice Team member, you will be a part of a team providing care and support to patients and their families who no longer receive treatments to cure their terminal illness but instead choose care to improve their comfort and quality of life. Our service allows our team members to focus on one patient at a time providing care where the patient calls home. While this often is a house or apartment, we also provide care at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. If a patient’s care needs are too complicated for home care or require a higher level of attention from nurses and other experts, we can provide care at one of our Hospice Care Centers.

Position Summary:
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and oversight of comprehensive client and family care services. This role provides clinical leadership to nursing staff, ensures high standards of patient care, promotes regulatory compliance, and supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate healthcare services.

Position Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional (Registered) nursing.
• Holds a current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
• Minimum of two (2) years of general nursing experience required; hospice, home health, medical-surgical, or critical care experience preferred.
• Demonstrated competency in pain and symptom management; IV therapy skills preferred.
• Skilled in clinical nursing practice with strong assessment, observation, and critical thinking abilities.
• Demonstrates sound nursing judgment, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to complete timely and accurate documentation.
• Ability to provide compassionate care while supporting patients and families experiencing emotional stress; respectful and tolerant of diverse lifestyles and beliefs.
• Practices in accordance with accepted professional nursing standards and ethical principles.
• Understands and supports the organization’s philosophy, including principles related to end-of-life care and the dying process.
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
• Flexible, cooperative, and adaptable in fulfilling role responsibilities.
• Maintains current CPR certification.
• Possesses a valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation in accordance with state and organizational requirements.
• Complies with Bluegrass Care Navigators (BCN) Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
