is seeking a
Full-Time Weekend Certified Nursing Aide for Homecare
- Weekend Shift: Saturday - Monday 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Non-Exempt
- Occasional Inpatient Center
Job Summary: Primary function is to provide personal healthcare and related services to patients in homecare environments; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with patients and families and share observations and problems with a supervisor. Works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Education: High school diploma preferred.
Experience: Completion of approved Certified Nursing Aide Program in good standing on the state nurse aide registry. At least one year experience required, preferably as a Hospice Aide or CNA in a hospital, nursing home, home health agency, or long-term care facility.
Skills: Must be able to read and write English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively. Must pass Aide Competency Evaluation Skills Checklist and written skills test.
Transportation: Valid Driver's License. Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance required.
Environmental and Working Conditions: Works in homes, facilities and sometimes the inpatient center in various conditions, possible exposure to blood and body fluids and infectious diseases.
Physical and Mental Effort: Prolonged standing and walking required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move patients.
Essential Functions: Provide direct patient care to patients under direction of the RN and according to the Aide Plan of Care. Provide necessary skills to assist patients with safe transfers and ambulation per agency policy. Provide necessary skills to appropriately report changes and document pertinent information and care rendered to patients to ensure continuity of care. Practice acceptable infection control principles. Provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Provide skills necessary to perform treatments and procedures according to agency policy. Promote the agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
