Donation Processing Specialist

Job Summary:   The Donation Processing Specialist oversees the end-to-end gift processing pipeline from donation intake to gift reporting, ensuring record, gift and financial accuracy for NorthStar Care Community Foundation.

Essential Functions:

1. Regularly involved with all gift processing aspects, including but not limited to the following: gift entry, acknowledgment receipting, and gift reporting.
2. Assists with implementing control measures for donation depositing.
3. Maintains accurate donor files.
4. Assists with maintaining CRM policies and procedures and help implement updates when necessary.
5. Proficient in CRM databases to effectively maximize current donor database for NorthStar Foundation needs.
6. Prepares month-end fundraising report preparation and serves as a liaison with NorthStar Finance team to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation.
7. Assists with annual renewal solicitation registration forms and extensions.
8. Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual Foundation expense reconciliation.
9. Prepares Foundation mailing lists and reports as assigned.
10. Completes and analyzes reports as assigned.
11. Provides CRM support to foundation staff as needed.
12. Assists in special event activity as needed.
13. Assists with donor inquiries and complaints and responds to all inquiries in professional manner.
14. Adjusts to changes in workload and schedules based on changing priorities.
15. Participates in internal and external education, training, in-services and other activities to promote personal and professional growth.
16. Adheres to all local, state and federal laws regarding donations and follows all NorthStar Community standards of donor integrity.
17. Adheres to organizational Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, protocols and processes and all regulatory and legal requirements.
18. Adheres to the NorthStar standards to care for every person, every time, 100% of the time.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
2. Two (2) to four (4) years of database management software experience required.
3. Raiser’s Edge database experience preferred.
4. Previous customer relations experience preferred.
5. Must possess sound judgment; effective organizational, prioritization and follow-through skills; attention to detail; accuracy; dependability; tact; and ability to maintain confidential information.
6. Working understanding of philanthropy and finance preferred.
7. Computer skills to include adequate typing level and working knowledge of Excel.
8. Must possess sound judgment; effective organizational, prioritization and follow-through skills; attention to detail; accuracy; dependability; tact; and ability to maintain confidential information.
9. Experience creating, organizing, completing projects; working with vendors.
10. Extensive experience with Microsoft applications and Raisers Edge or other fundraising software experience required. 
11. Must be able to read, write and speak English and be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing in internal and external relationships for all essential job functions.
12. The physical and sensory demands of the position include:  vision, effective speech and hearing for extensive telephone contact; repetitive motion; driving or riding in a motor vehicle; standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and stretching; and lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted.
13. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
