What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist position at HOSPICE OF LAKE & SUMTER?
Cornerstone Hospice is hiring a Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist to support our patients and families in Orlando.
The Registered Dietitian provides technical, educational and consultative services in the field of nutrition on an as needed basis. This position will need to be available to inspect our Orlando Hospice House at least once a month for an inspection, help develop menus, be available for both Hospice House and home visits in the Orange and Osceola counties for patients needing nutritional consult.
Schedule: Days and hours vary- Contracted PRN Position - (Monthly Unit Inspection, availability for patient consults)
Position Responsibilities:
- Provides nutritional consultations and counseling to patients and families when indicated by the hospice care plan.
- Coordinates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to develop care plans based on the patients’ nutritional status, goals and choice.
- Completes clinical duties and documentation accurately and timely (i.e., nutritional assessments, progress, care plans and discharge plans).
- Plans menus and diets that meet the nutritional needs of Hospice House residents in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Assists in developing policies and procedures related to dietary and nutritional service.
- Provides in-services and education to staff, volunteers and community partners as requested.
- Serves on committees and task forces to develop educational, quality improvement, and standards of care as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from the American Dietetic Association and current Florida license as a Registered Dietitian.
- Minimum three years of professional experience in nutrition.
- Minimum one year of healthcare experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate skills for communication with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and required auto liability insurance.
