About the Role
Hospice of Cumberland County is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Home Team on a Part-Time or PRN basis. This role provides direct patient care in the home setting, supporting individuals and families during end‑of‑life care with dignity, comfort, and compassion.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide in‑home nursing visits to hospice patients across Cumberland County
- Assess patient needs, symptoms, and overall condition
- Implement and evaluate individualized care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and symptom management
- Educate patients and families about disease progression, comfort measures, and hospice services
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team (CNAs, social workers, volunteers, chaplains, providers)
- Document all visits and care electronically according to agency standards
- Participate in on‑call rotation as needed (PRN availability may vary)
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Tennessee
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Hospice or home health experience preferred, but not required
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently in the field
Schedule
- Part-Time or PRN flexible scheduling
- Day shift primarily; PRN hours vary based on needs
