How you will contribute:
Crossbridge Hospice volunteers play an important role in bringing comfort, connection, and companionship to patients and their families. Volunteer support may include friendly visits, conversation, reading, playing music, caregiver support, or simply offering a calming presence. Volunteers may also provide respite care, allowing caregivers time to rest, run errands, or take a break with confidence that their loved one is in the company of a trained, compassionate volunteer.
All volunteers are thoroughly screened and trained—including background checks, fingerprinting, and drug screening—before joining the Crossbridge Hospice team. If you are caring, compassionate, and genuinely motivated to help others, becoming a hospice volunteer may be a meaningful and rewarding opportunity. Volunteers share their time and talents to bring comfort to patients and ease the emotional load often carried by families during a difficult time.
Benefits of Becoming a Crossbridge Hospice Volunteer
Volunteers are vital to the mission of Crossbridge Hospice. Many volunteers describe their experience as profoundly fulfilling and meaningful. They report:
- A deep sense of purpose in supporting someone at an important moment in their life.
- The feeling of giving back to the community in a powerful and personal way.
- Greater appreciation and perspective in their own lives as they support individuals and families through the end-of-life journey.
- The reward of forming genuine connections built on compassion, presence, and human kindness.
Volunteers often share that they receive as much as they give—and sometimes even more.
How Much Commitment Is Required?
After completing training, volunteers have the flexibility to choose their level of involvement and the communities they wish to serve. We will work with you to find opportunities that match your interests, availability, and comfort level.
Whether you can offer two hours per month or eight hours per week, your time makes a tremendous difference. Every effort is valued and appreciated.
