Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated MRI Technologist to join our imaging team. In this advanced role, you will perform a wide range of routine and specialty MRI examinations to support diagnostic evaluation across multiple clinical areas. You will be responsible for operating high-field MRI systems—specifically Siemens platforms—while ensuring optimal image quality, patient safety, and workflow efficiency. Collaboration with radiologists, providers, and support staff is essential to delivering high-quality imaging services.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality clinical MRI examinations across a variety of anatomical regions and patient populations.
Operate Siemens MRI systems, configure scan parameters, and monitor scan progress while strictly adhering to MRI safety protocols.
Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and accurate anatomical alignment.
Administer contrast media according to physician guidelines and thoroughly screen patients for contraindications such as implants, devices, or claustrophobia.
Evaluate image quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure diagnostic accuracy and completeness.
Troubleshoot acquisition and hardware/software issues and communicate findings appropriately.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all institutional, state, and federal regulations.
Ensure MRI suites remain clean, functional, and compliant with infection-control standards.
Stay current with MRI technology, safety practices, and advancements in imaging techniques.
Education & Certifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Imaging Science, or related field.
ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and MRI (MR) required.
BLS certification required.
State licensure as applicable.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience, including required experience with Siemens MRI systems.
Familiarity with neuroimaging or advanced imaging software (e.g., SPM, FSL, AFNI) preferred but not required.
Experience collaborating with radiologists, neurologists, or research teams is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of MRI physics, image acquisition parameters, and MRI safety standards.
Proficiency in operating Siemens scanner consoles within a clinical environment.
Excellent understanding of human anatomy and cross-sectional imaging.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with diverse patient populations and interdisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to workflow changes, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Competence in MRI post-processing and data export for clinical interpretation.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Ability to lift and move patients and equipment (up to 100 lbs occasionally).
Work involves exposure to confined spaces, noise, and magnetic fields.
Requires standing, walking, and bending during shifts of up to 12 hours.
High degree of mental focus, attention to detail, and problem-solving required.
