Job Summary:
The General Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks to support construction and renovation projects. Working under the supervision of project managers and foremen, the laborer assists with site preparation, cleanup, material handling, and basic construction activities. This role requires physical strength, attention to safety, and the ability to work as part of a team in outdoor and indoor environments. This individual is dependable, follows directions well, and is willing to learn and take on various tasks to ensure project success.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards
Set up temporary structures, such as scaffolding, barriers, and safety signage
Load, unload, and distribute construction materials to various locations on the site
Transport heavy materials and tools, ensuring they are readily available for tradespeople
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently for tasks such as demolition, cutting, and assembly
Perform basic maintenance and care on tools to ensure they are safe for use
Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) by providing materials, tools, and support during construction activities
Help measure, cut, and assemble construction materials under supervision
Follow company safety protocols and OSHA regulations at all times
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses
Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks
Support any general labor tasks required by the project manager or site foreman
Other duties as assigned

Experience
Basic experience in construction, landscaping, warehousing, or similar manual labor roles
Experience using basic hand and power tools, such as hammers, drills, saws, or shovels, is often preferred. Knowledge of safe handling practices for these tools
Previous work in outdoor settings, especially in diverse weather conditions
Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and work within OSHA or other regulatory guidelines is preferred, particularly in industries with high safety standards
Experience working as part of a team, following instructions, and communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers
Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to lift heavy objects, often up to 50 pounds or more
Stamina for performing physically demanding tasks over long hours
Endurance to work in various weather conditions and environments
Familiarity with basic construction practices, safety protocols, and tools
Understanding of how to use hand tools (e.g., hammers, shovels, saws) and power tools safely and efficiently
Awareness of basic construction site operations and procedures
Good hand-eye coordination to use tools and perform tasks accurately
Manual dexterity for handling small tools, adjusting equipment, and performing precise work
Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including PPE (personal protective equipment) and OSHA guidelines
Ability to identify potential hazards and follow safety protocols to minimize risks
Punctuality, dependability, and a strong commitment to completing assigned tasks
Ability to work under supervision and follow directions closely
Flexibility to work overtime or weekends if needed
Basic communication skills to understand instructions and coordinate with other team members
Ability to report issues or clarify instructions when needed
Ability to adapt to changing conditions and resolve minor issues on-site
Resourcefulness in addressing unexpected challenges or troubleshooting equipment
Willingness to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues, and contributing to team goals
Ability to collaborate with other contractors, managers, and site personnel effectively
Experience with heavy machinery (e.g., forklifts, loaders) or willingness to learn

Working Environment
Work primarily in a warehouse environment, occasionally outdoors for field repairs
May be exposed to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures
