Position Summary
The Equipment Specialist/CSR is responsible for the setup, delivery, and servicing of durable medical equipment (DME) for patients, caregivers, and family members. This role includes conducting home-based equipment checks, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, and insurance requirements. The position is essential in promoting the company’s reputation, maintaining strong patient relationships, and supporting the delivery of safe, reliable care. Applicants must be at least 21 years old to qualify for company insurance coverage.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct equipment checks and perform servicing of medical equipment in patient homes in accordance with company policy.
Document all service, maintenance, and rental activity in company records.
Assist with inventory control and equipment tracking.
Update and maintain customer care plans following visits.
Adhere to billing policies and complete all paperwork accurately for reimbursement processing.
Support retail sales, including knowledge of product lines, pricing, and insurance coverage.
Submit daily activity reports and communicate work schedules, problems, or issues to management.
Coordinate daily schedules with management to ensure efficient coverage.
Participate in on-call/after-hours rotation for patient needs as directed by management.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
Maintain professional appearance and ensure proper upkeep of office and grounds.
Safely operate vehicles and equipment, including in inclement weather.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Required Education, Certifications, and Licenses
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Experience
Medical training or education preferred, especially in respiratory care.
Prior DME or home care experience preferred.
Ability to work cooperatively as a professional team member with a positive attitude.
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS billing codes.
Understanding of insurance policies and reimbursement procedures.
High accuracy and attention to detail in billing and documentation.
Proficiency in Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets and Docs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with patients, families, providers, and insurers.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve under pressure.
Must pass background screenings, including criminal history, DFS Central Registry, and HHS Exclusions Database search.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Medium physical work; may require exertion of up to 50 pounds.
Requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, and occasional ladder use.

Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, including inclement weather (wind, cold, heat, storms).
Occasional work in confined areas, with exposure to fumes and loud noise.
Must be able to operate all equipment necessary to perform duties.
Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
