POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Planner's primary responsibilities are ensuring all products required by internal and external customers are manufactured, shipped, and delivered on-time.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Planning
- Develop production planning forecasts
- Use & maintain production planning software as the primary tool
- Plan, schedule, release, & control production orders based on MRP requirements
- Review sales orders & collaborate with sales, marketing, production, & other groups
- Ensure information is current & accurate
- Evaluate forecast results & coordinate cross-functionally to reconcile variances, resolve potential schedule interruptions, & refine forecast
Inventory
- Provide input into development of inventory strategies on current, new, and to-be-obsoleted items
- Manage raw materials, WIP, & finished goods inventory levels to align with business objectives and requirements
- Develop & maintain safety stock strategy
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root cause, & initiate corrective actions to prevent future variances
Purchasing
- Purchase standard and non-standard services to support production & customer needs
- Follow up on late orders, & expedite as needed
- Maintain supplier material certification database
SKIILS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree or High school diploma
- Working knowledge of MS Office & ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills to work cross-functionally
- Highly organized with strong time management & prioritization skills
- Strong math & statistics background

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Duties are primarily performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer terminal.
