Job Description
Horus Academy is seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals for our Accounting Internship Program in Needham, MA.
This position is a hands-on, high impact opportunity designed for students and entry-level candidates who want real-world experience in bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping.
We are also looking for candidates with a creative mindset who are interested in developing and improving systems and processes within the organization. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in problem-solving, proactive in identifying efficiencies, and excited to contribute innovative ideas that support operational and financial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
As an Accounting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in core business functions through:
- Assist with updating and maintaining accounting records
- Post manual general journal entries
- Support bookkeeping and financial data entry
- Help organize financial files and documentation
- Assist with account reconciliations and expense tracking
- Support invoice tracking and payment records
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for financial reporting using Microsoft Excel
- Support administrative and accounting-related tasks as assigned
- Run and assist with payroll processing
- Contribute creative ideas to improve workflows, systems, and operational efficiency
Qualifications
We are looking for motivated, career-driven individuals who meet the following:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business, Management, or related field
- General accounting knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- QuickBooks experience or familiarity is a plus
