As a condition of employment, you will be required to complete all state-approved RDA coursework, pass the required examinations, and successfully submit your completed RDA application to the State Board within 45 days of your hire date. Continued employment is contingent upon the State Board successfully issuing your active registration.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentist in four-handed dentistry during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, IV sedation and oral surgery.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring patient safety and adherence to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records management.
- Operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners, digital imaging systems, and Dentrix
- Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, medical history updates, and explaining procedures to patients to ease anxiety.
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records accurately in EMR systems, and acting as a friendly dental receptionist when needed.
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as and maintaining compliance with HIPAA privacy standards.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with dental software platforms such as Dentrix and Cerec.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following all safety protocols for radiation exposure.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and familiarity with dental records management within a dental clinic environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist patients of all ages and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; additional certifications in medical coding or advanced imaging are a plus.
