Horses Adaptive Riding and Therapy (HART)
Founded in 2015, Horses Adaptive Riding and Therapy (HART) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with disabilities through the healing power of horses. We create life-changing experiences by fostering meaningful connections between people and horses in a supportive, community-focused environment. Our team is passionate about empowering participants to achieve growth, confidence, and independence through equine-assisted services.
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and enthusiastic Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a vital role in recruiting, training, and supporting our volunteers while representing HART within the community by promoting our mission and programs.
Schedule
- Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Position Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of volunteer coordination or similar experience.
- At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable speaking to community groups and representing HART at outreach events
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Primary Responsibilities
- Recruit, onboard, train, and support new and existing volunteers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date volunteer records and paperwork
- Coordinate volunteer schedules to ensure program needs are met
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for participants, volunteers, and visitors
- Collaborate with instructors, staff, and volunteers to create a positive, fun, and supportive atmosphere
- Represent HART at community events, presentations, and outreach opportunities to increase awareness of our mission and programs
- Assist with volunteer recognition and retention efforts
- Help ensure compliance with HART policies, safety procedures, and risk management practices
