Description:

As a Product Specialist, this role serves at the heart of HORSCH’s customer support and product performance efforts. Responsibilities include hands-on work with advanced agricultural equipment, direct support for customers, identification of product improvement opportunities, and clear communication of technical knowledge for service teams. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, experience collaborating with dealers and end users, and a passion for optimizing equipment performance in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer & Dealer Support

· Provide both remote and on-site product support to customers.

· Serve as the primary contact for service and parts departments within the assigned territory.

· Cultivate strong relationships with dealer service and parts teams to ensure consistent and effective support.

· Offer technical assistance and on-demand setup support to customers.

· Regularly communicate with personnel regarding product issues, component testing, and weekly activity updates.

· Submit timely and accurate expense reports in compliance with company accounting procedures.

Training & Communication

· Train and support dealer service and parts teams on HORSCH tools, systems, and processes.

· Serve as the point of contact for both internal teams and external partners to ensure clear and consistent communication.

· Proactively communicate product updates, troubleshooting insights, and training needs with internal teams.

· Facilitate feedback loops with external contacts to ensure product performance and support meet customer needs.

· Contribute to the creation of service manuals, training materials, and both internal and dealer training programs.

· Support and maintain service training tools and stands to ensure efficient and effective training.

Product & Engineering Collaboration

· Provide engineering and service teams with valuable feedback based on field performance and customer insights.

· Support field product testing and prototype installations to ensure product functionality.

· Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype builds and test part installations.

· Generate actionable product improvement ideas based on failure analysis and customer feedback.

· Assist manufacturing teams as needed to streamline product development and performance.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience working with agricultural equipment and products, including hands-on servicing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Professional phone presence and customer service skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other organizational tools
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel at least 80% of the time
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of practical experience in agricultural equipment service or support preferred

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Individuals may need to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods.
  • The position may require reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting techniques are required.
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses with side shields, is required.
