Salary: $30,000-40,000 per year (depending on experience and agreed-upon hours)
Schedule: Flexible, based on weekly food bank schedules, and with occasional early mornings for deliveries
About the Role
Horry County Council on Aging (HCCOA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency, is seeking a Food Programs Coordinator to lead and grow our food access programs for seniors and the community.
This position oversees multiple food initiatives, including:
- Monthly Senior Food Bag Program (60 )
- Fresh For All produce distributions
- Food Bank partnership and countywide distribution efforts
This is a hands-on role that combines program coordination, logistics, volunteer management, and community impact.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate food ordering, delivery, inventory, and distribution
- Serve as the primary contact with the regional food bank
- Manage monthly senior food bag program (packing, tracking, distribution)
- Oversee distribution events at senior centers across the county
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
- Ensure food safety and compliance standards are met
- Manage client and program data (Link2Feed, Vivery)
- Track program outcomes (households served, pounds distributed)
- Assist with outreach, flyers, and community engagement
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Experience in program coordination, logistics, food service, and/or nonprofit work
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience working with volunteers or teams
- Basic computer and data tracking skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and assist with setup/tear-down
- Valid SC driver’s license
Preferred:
- Experience with food banks or hunger relief programs
- Knowledge of food safety practices (ServSafe certified a plus)
- Experience with Link2Feed, Vivery, OrderAhead, or similar systems
Work Environment
- Mix of office, warehouse, and community sites
- Some early mornings for food deliveries
- Active role involving standing, lifting, and event setup
